The Rustomjee team at Global City initiated yet another Social Activity on 30th July 2011. This time they spent a day with the kids at ‘Handmaids of the Blessed Trinity’ Orphanage in Vasai. The children staying at Handmaids are orphans, street children and a few belong to poor families who cannot nurture and care for their children properly due to a lack of income. The Handmaids of the Blessed Trinity Orphanage takes complete care of the children and looks after their studies.
The team at Global City presented school bags, umbrellas, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, tiffin boxes, water bottles, crayons, geometry boxes and other goodies to the children along with essential commodities like Dettol, bandages, toothpaste, toothbrushes and soaps that they required for their daily routine.
With there being birthdays of few kids on that day, the team was delighted to celebrate the occasion with a cake cutting ceremony. The children with their cheerful faces and bright shining eyes were delighted to spend their day with our team and so were we. They distributed cakes and chocolates to the kids and kept them entertained with games like musical chairs and passing the parcel. To liven up the atmosphere even more, the team held a dance competition for the kids, which they truly enjoyed.
They also donated toys to kids from the age group of one to ten years along with grocery products like besan, rice, sugar, cooking oil, maggie noodles, poha, Jam, biscuits, sauces, moong dal, tur dal, wheat and heath drinks like Boost and Bournvita.

All in all, it was a day spent that was thoroughly enjoyed not only by the kids at the orphanage but also by Rustomjee and it is definitely something that the team will be looking forward to doing again.
